I have lived in Iowa all my life, and lived in Cedar Rapids for 4 years of it for college, and there's one thing kinda depressing about this movie for me: I won't be able to watch it and point out landmarks or make jokes about things in Cedar Rapids (It won't feel the same if nobody refers to it as the City of Five Smells).
I know EXACTLY how you feel. I was born and raised in Waterloo, moved to the BIG CITY of Cedar Rapids almost the same moment my HS diploma hit my hand and lived there for 7 years before moving to Texas. I still claim Cedar Rapids as my "hometown".
There needs to be a joke in the movie referring to it as the City of Five Smells. I was so excited when I first learned of this movie. I wanted to see the big stainless steel tree, May's Island, The Five Season's Center (I still can't call it the US Cellular Center, or whatever it's called now), the distinctive Cedar Rapids skyline, including Quaker Oats, I-380... looking at Ann Arbor is NOT going to be the same!
