I was in the theater to see Black Swan today and this trailer came on and I was so personally repulsed and offended by its drooling, gormless insipidness that I felt the need to make a thread on IMDB to express my digust.
I do not think someone who likes psychological thrillers like "Black Swan" is someone who generally would like Comedy or Action Adventure movies. I doubt too many bird watchers also like Monday Night Football. Perhaps bad placement of a trailer but not necessarily a bad movie. Have you seen the movie? No? Then you are jumping to a conclusion with incomplete data and a small random sample.
kzkb1...so you are clearly the ubber "I hate every movie ever made because they don't meet my super intelectual standards, president of the Darren Aronofsky d*ck sucking club, I'm a genius in film because I took 2 film appreciation classes at community college" guy, and have taken the next step and cant wait any longer to hate on the movie, that you have to hate on the trailer.
Nope. Recent comedies I loved: Observe & Report, Role Models, Pineapple Express, The Hangover, Knocked Up...the list probably goes on. This movie just looks like utter trash. Oh, and I hated Pi.
ok i apologize....now that i look back at the preview again you are right....it does drool quit considerably, and heavens there is no gorm at all, and I havent seen a preview with such little insipidness in my life.
you really don't have a dog in this hunt if you haven't seen the movie. that's like me rating your performance at your job based on a 30 second conversation. This movie is actually pretty funny. It blows the Hangover out of the water. the hangover was dumb, there's thought that went behind Cedar Rapids. How can you like seth rogen? ugghhhh
Just looking at the recent comedies you did like, means this one could be for you. It's more on the realistic way and will most likely have some good mix of dark comedy. Plus how can you hate a movie by judging it's trailer? I thought Pineapple Express was going to be great. Turns out no, it wasn't. And vice versa for 500 Days of Summer. Thought it looked like a typical indie movie, but it stood out from the indie crowd.
Looks like this one's a pretty polarizing movie. Personally I thought it was hilarious, but it seems like half the audience didn't laugh at all. %86 percent on rotten tomatoes, but what critics like and what audiences like tend to be fairly different.
