Like how they make a cheating wife out

to be some sort of good person. That would never fly the other way around (if it were a cheating husband he would be viewed as scum).

Tim Lippe was cheating on (or so he thought) Marcy and they made him a good guy so boom! your argument is blasted out of the water.

reply

But Marcy never wanted any permanent romantic relationship with Lippe, and she was happy that he did sleep with another woman so that he would finally attach himself to someone else. He didn't have a chance to be vilified because he never hurt anyone else by his perceived "cheating."

Boom. Your argument is nullified in the water. :)

Did you miss the part where he apologizes profusely and feels horrible whereas she is completely unrepentant and thinks she has done nothing wrong?

reply

Yea, she admitted that her annual trips to CR was a "get away" from her life and she banged out someone. So every year she cheats on her husband....yet she is a "nice person".

In her case who did it really hurt? Her hubby didn't know and it didn't interfere with their marriage.

reply

Yeah, you're right.

That's the double standard our society has:
A woman who enjoys sex with multiple partners is a slut and she's a bad person.
A guy who enjoys sex with multiple partners is "just being a guy."

A woman cheats on a man because he's a selfish, neglectful @$$hole who won't put her needs before his and show her any affection.
A man cheats on a woman because he's a selfish, neglectful @$$hole who won't think of anyone but himself.

Sad how it works out that way, but at least it balances out.

You're a brainwashed idiot.

Cheating women are NEVER portrayed badly in any film. There are countless examples. Nurse Jackie, The Big C, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Little Children, are just a few examples of shows and movies always expecting you to accept cheating women and there is no male equivalent.

looks to me you need to re-read his post LOL

Here are a few movies that disproves that:

The Room http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0368226/

The Last Seduction http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110308/

Body Heat http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082089/

The Postman Always Rings Twice http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0038854/

Murder, My Sweet http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0037101/

Double Indemnity http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0036775/

As you can see, it's real popular in the noir genre.

OMG, good people can do bad/selfish things sometimes. WHAT A REVELATION!

I wish the real world was like the world you believe in, black and white where good and bad live on opposite sides of the street.

reply

John C. Reilly's character is implied to have cheated on his wife and he's ultimately portrayed as a good guy in the movie.

Dig him up and shake his hand. Appreciate the man.
