All the previous DC movies were dark and melancholic of some kind, but this one is totally different, I think it looks more like a Marvel movie. What do you think?
shareIs there really any doubt? The general movie going audience doesn't want dark and brooding comic book movies. Also, Snyder is a hack.
shareSort of, they went for as much lighter tone. But Marvel movies are much more intelligent and coherent, with the eexception of "Ragnarok", it's possible to take all of their films seriously.
Of course, I dont mean to say that's a bad thing! I adore "Aquaman" for being a totally enjoyable incoherent mess, it was SO much filun.
Alittle bit. I mean, Joker's obviously gonna be dark and gritty. And SS2 will probably keep the dark aesthetic but feel like a single coherent story this time. And Birds of Prey is gonna be rated R.
shareDeadpool is rated R, those weren't particularly dark nor gritty.
There's nothing wrong with dark and gritty though. But it can't be that for the sake of being dark and gritty. Also, it doesn't make your story more adult in any way.
