Guesses for Baby Watson's name?

What will the Watsons name their daughter?
"Sherlock" is still in the running.

I was reading the Screenplay for "The Private life of Sherlock Holmes"(1970) which has inspired the tone of the present series, and came across the scene where Sherlock was propositioned by the Russian ballerina. She said if they had a daughter they would name her Svetlana.

Svetlana Watson?

It has an exotic ring to it.

Maybe Sherry? A take on Sherlock

reply

Sweet or dry? That's not a name, it's a drink. I would go for Violet.

reply

I have known several women named Sherry, one of them a friend of mine although she spells with an I.

reply

With parents named John and Mary, I think a simple, traditional but pretty name would work best. I favor "Rose."

reply

I agree. They would take something simple and traditional. Rose could be an option, but Violet or Jane or Sara could go too (is Sara spelled that way in English?)

reply

Sarah was the name of Doctor Watson's first girlfriend in the series, so I'm pretty sure they won't choose that one. :)

reply

You´re right on that XD My mistake

reply

How do you know it's a girl?

reply

It's never 100% but John said on the tarmac in HLV that they'd had a scan and they think it's a girl. They're both medical professionals so I'd say they'd be able to tell a fairly clear scan when they saw one.

reply

Thanks, I forgot that.

reply

I vote for Emma.

LOL!

Nicely played. 

My guess would be Elizabeth. Otherwise Victoria.

Hopefully not Joan or Jane.

Shirley. 😀

Of course Mary would never go for that.... so it'll be some boring English name.

I'm just a 'Gleek' at heart.

Mylock? Shercroft?

Amanda? 

I agree it's more likely to be classic or near classic. The names mentioned are strong contenders.

Maybe Claire or Iris?
