The Plot

I'm a young writer and grew up watching Baywatch. This is how my plot would be...

Baywatch is about lifeguards who patrol beaches in Los Angeles County. When chief lifeguard (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) is approached to do a reality show based on the lifeguards in LA County, there are mixed reactions; with the young lifeguards ready for fame and the veterans not interested in the publicity in their lives or jobs.

When the reality show gets the green light, the chief loses a couple of his veteran lifeguards who want no part in it. They are replaced by beautiful "lifeguards" ....one young woman who can't even swim.

When parts of the show are set up and staged for fake rescues...more red flags are drawn by the original lifeguards.

The producers of the reality show "Baywatch" have an ulterior motive. When the show becomes a hit, they push for LA Counties most active public beach to be private for "filming and safety purposes". The chief (The Rock) realizes he's fighting a losing battle, he leaves his profession. Unbeknownst to everyone else, the producers are using the beach to smuggle drugs.

When The Rock and his fellow veteran lifeguard get am urgent call from the younger lifeguards, claiming to be on a part boat in trouble, they run to the rescue.

In the end...The Rock gets his beach back and "Baywatch" is canceled.

I'm aiming for new characters. No Mitch. No C.J. Maybe cameos by Hoff and Anderson as crew members of reality production.
