sci-fi/post-apo flavoured slow "who did it" conspiracy drama.
Intro is amazing
Music is climatic and great
Scenes and sets are truly truly truly great
Characters, for the most part, are quite great
Action was pretty bad. Director couldn't make it gripping and interesting.
Plot is basic and feels like characters get where they are supposed to be simply because script told them so. Also it's very slow to unravel.
There are alot and i mean ALOT of flashbacks. Some are okay and are supposed to add to the character, but some add "a bit too much", making it feel like it breaks what characters should know in the present time.. Plothole'ish.
Show does have other visible plotholes. They arent big, but those things are easy'ish to spot and should have been adressed.
What's interesting, the show doesn't mind killing big characters. Feels refreshing.
With just that it'd be really okay show to kill your free time. But there's 1 more thing. A dealbreaker for me.
It's ideolo/woke charged. I can't stand indoctrination. At first i thought it was just some minor character flaws, or "tough world" that shaped those people bit more roughly.. But i don't think that's the case anymore. I think director tries to play "gender war", where positive aspects are more likely to be bestowed on female characters, while negative on the males. Strenghts? Smarts? Ingenuity? You got plenty of that on one side. On the other we have incompetency, fear, lies, weakness, evilness for the sake of it. The only woman that could have been considered evil, or just powerhungry... turns out to be a poor crying victim of an evil man. Yawn.
Eitherway: if you can turn off critical thinking, or thinking in general, and don't mind ideolo, it's worth a watch.
