I read the book, the series, by Hugh Howey.

I got absorbed and caught up in it, but the idea that a silo with a circular staircase can be so big as to take days to ascent and descend is going to be difficult for this world to establish.

The world author Howey builds is every bit as elaborate as Arrakis and Dune, and probably more realistic.

That said, it is a fascinating world and story, and I am looking forward to it. I wonder if it is successful if there are plans to extent this into multiple seasons as the books are quite long ... I mean really really long.

Just an update. Except for Ep. 3 this is pretty well done, and just different enough from how I remember the book that it is unpredictable. It does seem to be taking its own sweet time.

There is likely two outcomes for a series like this, either they end it all poorly in one season, or they drag it on year after year forcing fans to invest in whatever streaming service it is and what is usually a deliberately slow plot as they ride the gravy train..
