D.J. Caruso’s Exclusive Interview About The I Am Number Four Sequel
Sep 1 2013

We have a good news for you, Lorics! Here’s an exclusive interview of I Am Rogue with the director of I Am Number Four, D.J. Caruso! The interview transcript of I Am Rogue was posted last August 18, 2013 (Sunday). Read it below!

I Am Rogue: “Finally, your last film I Am Number Four was based on a very popular series of novels called Lorien Legacies. Has there been any discussion of making a sequel to the film and adapting the next book – The Power of Six?”

Caruso: “It’s come up before because we did decent numbers here in the states, but we didn’t do great, but really internationally the movie did well and it has this huge following so I get that question a lot. The Power of Six, which is the second book and would feature Number Six a little bit more, we’ve talked about it, but nothing’s really jumpstarted. There’s been some talk in the past couple of months about trying to do something because there is this audience appetite out there and even on my Twitter account it’s crazy. Most of the people on Twitter that contact me from all over the world ask, “Where’s the next movie?” I think DreamWorks is getting those too so it’ll be interesting. I don’t know if I’d be involved, but I know they’re talking about it.”

Oh, yes, please! I read all the books after I saw the movie. We have to get more Lorien Legacies movies.

Swwwwweeeet!!! The series has a lot of potential and first was poorly done with concentrating too much on Sarah's and John's relationship and not enough on his Legacies and what happened on Lorien as they escaped. I think DreamWorks is gonna be backed into a corner making this though. 20th Century Fox had the same choice and continued on with making Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters(which I was ecstatic about and loved it). Young Adult movies based off books are really popular right now and with Lionsgate(Hunger Games), Summit(Ender's Game), Red Wagon(Divergent), and Warner Brothers(Quidditch Through the Ages and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) to name a few, so both 20th Century Fox and DreamWorks need a YA franchise to bring in fans of that age group so they don't fall behind.
