I love the books. Sort of a guilty pleasure of mine, reading wise. Certainly the dialogue is a bit juvenile at times but the story is original and interesting. Just wish the movie was done right and the sequels were made.

As for Aredo's awful taste, there is a MOUNTAIN of evidence.
The 1/10 ratings for Dredd, Sin City, Pulp Fiction, Looper, South Park, The Simpsons, Cinema Paradiso, The Lion King, Inglourious Basterds, Ratatouille, Children of Men, Prometheus, etc.
Not to mention the NUMEROUS ratings given to films that have yet to be released. (Apparently watching the trailer counts as seeing the movie for Aredo)

Same with the Inheritance book series(Eragon, Eldest, Brisingir, and Inheritance). The books deserved more than the crappy movie it got.
