Really? You play XBox with a controller and you suddenly can shoot an alien weapon? Please, kill whoever wrote that line...

To be fair, the gun looked pretty easy to operate (basic pull the trigger to shoot design). Honestly, I think the line was just hit feeble attempt to impress her. They're kids who live in a small town so he could hardly say something like, "I used to be in the army..." now could he?

The line was meant as a bit of comic relief in an otherwise tense sequence. I don't think for a minute it was an attmept to make the character look like a bad ass :p

Yeah, I saw it as just a spur of the moment comment, as Sam was surprised at the whole situation too.

I thought it was funny and adorable. And that it might just pertain to some increased reaction speed due to playing a lot of video games.

Video games are used to train militarys, ever heard of America's Army? Quite a popular video game which was developed for the military.

I'm pretty sure I am able to pilot a tank after playing Tokyo Wars extensively.

You guys should look up twitch muscles and reaction time. The shot the kid made was impressive in the film because he shot as he reacted, not the other way around. In FPSs you have to be fast to pull off a kill sometimes.

Lol, I know due to playing scary games that my reaction speed to pause the game play has increased. XD

That is what I thought too @chiibug. I play a lot too(Halo and Call of Duty) so it makes it even more funny.
