Will women flock to see this, just to spite men?

I know we're in a silly culture war and all, but so many take it serious. Do you think a big chunk of Indy's audience this go around will be women who are really into seeing women turn into the hero?

I doubt it.

If 'squandering your time and money on a bad movie to pwn the incels' is a thing so be it, for the rest of us there are three great Indiana Jones movies available and in 4K.

Damn! Where is the 'like' button...

Like they do with the WNBA?

Even if the torch is passed to a woman, this film still stars Harrison Ford. So, assuming it’s a good movie, I would think his fans and fans of the earlier films — regardless of sex — would turn out to see Indy one last time. Butt-hurt males can always boycott any future installments in the series, if that is their wish.

If, indeed, there is a problem, I think it will resolve itself. Either enough people will like or not particularly care about reboots recast with women and people of color, in which case more will be made. Or they won’t and investment in such reboots will dry up. The prospect of further Indiana Jones films starring Phoebe Waller-Whatever doesn’t excite me, but I might see one if it got great reviews and had good word of mouth.

I have never in my long life ever heard of any woman going to see a movie just to spite men.

Wasn't Marion a hero in the 1st and 4th film. She did some heroic stuff in both films. How is this any different????

I'm going to say Riders of the Lost Ark is my favorite movie of all time... And if I am not wrong, the only 'heroics' things Marion did in that movie were: drinking more alcohol than a fat Sherpa, passing Indy a bottle of whiskey (after drinking from it) so he can use it to hit a bad guy, and stealing a butter knife to try to scare Belloq and escape a camp full of Nazis in the middle of the desert (while very drunk). Oh! and hitting a half zombie Egyptian local with a pan (which actually is the most heroic action she did, well until she became super mama GT jungle driver in the last one.

My wife and 2 Daughters + 3 Nieces all hate this crap, but they all Love Indy.
