do you think this will be any good?
Will they kill off Indy?
shareYeah I do. No I don’t think they will.
shareI think we're all gonna be surprised by how good, not great this movie is. Like pretty good, way better than Crystal Skull, no where near the trilogy. A fine send off for Harrison Ford is what i'm hoping for. So many screen legends like Connery go out with a whimper. It'd be great for Ford to send a solid across the line. It's gonna be a little woke. I'm prepared for that. It's current year. But I hope they keep that shit in check. I really hope they don't re-envision history with woke ideology. Make all the commentary you want, don't actually reinvent the past. I don't think they'll kill off Indy, not one bit. We might get a meta torch passing scene. Maybe. There's a reason they don't make a lot of movies like this. There's not much legend and myth to dig up and put a spin on.
shareIf the idea of it was any good than Steven Spielberg would have directed it. All signs are pointing to it being a piece of shit.
shareWon't be any good. Indy will survive, but he will 'pass the torch' to a female or a minority male replacement.
shareIndy can't die because he drank from the cup of Jesus. That's why he didn't die from the nuclear explosion.
shareJames Mangold inspires confidence. No, I don't think Indiana Jones will die.
shareI agree... the only hope I have for this is that I trust this director.
shareI think Joe Johnston would had been great for a sequel given his work on The Rocketeer and Captain America: the First Avenger.
shareHe does do great stuff for past eras. What era is this supposed to be? The sixties? He could pull it off. Robert Zemeckis could use a hit and I think he would be a great fit too.
shareIt will be as great as the Disney Star Wars trilogy.
I still think its a waste of everybody's time and effort to place the story in the 60's or 70's. Indy should have stayed in the 30's and 40's. Ford's real age is just a minor point and could and should have been overlooked. Producers weren't slaves of continuity while making Bond movies and there are some real gems among them. Screw the continuity and screw Ford's real age.
The future isn't bright, too many woke elements in the movies nowadays. Even a small touch of woke ruins a movie for me..tbh they should have made a IV & V in the 90's, early aughts.
shareAgreed. Harrison is just way too old. Even in KOTCS, he looked too old and that was 14 years ago. At least in the 90s he would have been passable for Indy.
