Falls short
I think in place of the casino stuff, they could've spent time with Mr Chairman and his underboss. I find it hard to believe that the Chairman with all his cunning would constantly treat his underboss with such disrespect in public. The Chairman is too smart to make his second feel like a lackey.
The twist would've been that showing how the Chairman treated his second like a son, the son having learned from his master still kills him in the end.
