Too Much Drama
Too much drama. Not enough action. It's difficult to imagine who the target audience was.

shareYep! Exactly.
I call it the scattergun approach and Hollywood loves it.
Warm family drama? Check.
Angsty teens? Check.
Testosterone filled conflict? Check.
Women dealing with womanly issues? Check.
Teen Romance? Check.
Get everything in there and blast away and don't forget to wrap it all around a giant alien bun. MMMMMMMM! But think. How many truly popular shows have there been that used the scattergun approach. None? Close to none? And so it goes. Doesn't stop them from trying this formula again and again.
Every truly popular show I can think of aimed at one or, at most, two demographics. I'm watching this crapola now on Netflix and am super surprised it made it to 5 seasons. Trite, stupid dialog, Bad acting, Soppy, maudlin scenes and...the Music...always the MUSIC.
I don't know what the producers of this cheese got but it should have been life.
