shareWell that's one way of looking at it. In the end it was the virus that killed her, as advertised. Whose to say she wasn't invincible otherwise? I did find the unprotected eggs (even though they could protect themselves) or tunnels awfully convenient. The aliens weren't supposed to know about the secret tunnels but obviously they did and they left them unguarded? My wife always points out my willingness to suspend belief for SciFi. I tell her it's fun to pretend. Falling Skies was a lot of fun. RIP.

I agree, there was a lot of convenient daft stuff in Falling Skies, but it's been like that since the beginning. You either enjoy it for what it is, or not. It's been fun, but it was never going to be a 'classic' scifi show. I finally watched the last episode, and it was okay. At least they ended it all, and gave it a reasonably happy complete end, that didn't leave it open 'just in case' (which is always annoying). I enjoyed them for what they were.
Though the whole 'alien queen' has been done SO many times... not to mention all the forces conveniently dying on her death!
Having said that, what annoyed me the most, was that they didn't have a satisfying death for Pope. I've hated that character since they first introduced him and someone would have put a bullet through his head long ago. Instead they kept having him be a real pain then 'one thing that sort've redeems him'. Every five times he acted like an a-hole, they'd build it up, then he'd do some 'selfless' act of bravery and everybody would be like 'okay, Pope! Good work'. I was glad they finally had him show his true colours, though, at least. But I REALLY wanted a satisfying end of Mason putting a round through his head. Or getting slowly eaten alive by a bunch of rabid skitters whilst trying to save his own skin and betray everyone. ;-)
With the whole queen thing they should have made it to where when she died the hive mind stopped and the minions just became mindless to be either picked off or slowly starve to death. All of them turning into firecrackers was hokey.

The ending was rushed. Reminded me of kid who was eager to finish a term paper and just tossed in any things they could think of.

So I finally finished this series.
I see I wasn't the only one to find the finale pretty flat and lackluster.
On a different but related topic. I was very surprised that there weren't more deaths. I was fully expecting more of a death toll. I didn't necessarily want to see it, but it felt like it needed to happen: Anne, Weaver, and/or one of the Masons.

Pope should have died in that blast, coming back at the end just didn't fit. Yes one of the Mason boys should have died. I halfway expected Ben to jump on the back of the queen while she was draining his father, be killed by her, giving Tom enough time to release the virus. The odds of all four Masons coming out alive was dumb. Tom needed to feel a close to home loss.

I disagree. I think the show had a good ending and while it wasn't the best and I thought they would have killed Ben off I was happy it had a good ending and Tom and the 2nd Mass defeated the Esphani. 😃
