Why does the cop say ...


"This guy's a teacher, right?" He says it near the end of the film and his partner replies "at a community college".
I've never been able to figure out the significance of this line, and since its the last words we hear from this particular character it seems like it must mean something. Help!

It made him an unlikely mastermind of the whole thing. He changed.

The cop's mistake was that he didn't think teachers were smart, and thought even less of a teacher at a community college. It might be a common assumption, but it's not a very bright one to think a college teacher isn't smart. Most are.

It's not about being smart, everbody knows that teachers are smart.
It's about pulling off an elaborate escape plan like a badass.
