This movie is languishing in nowhere land!

Please Halle and Elaine take this movie to Troika Pictures, WWE Studios and TriStar Pictures. Just use your contacts, to buy out any cost to Relativity, and get this movie out there.

It just ridiculous how long this is taking. Please remember what happened with Dark Tide, and DO NOT let that happend with this.

It would be crying shame if this were to end up like that project.

It must be extremely frustrating to Luis Prieto (this would be his 1st US feature film) That's a mjaor calliing card for any US or Non US director.

This film could be another The Call, if only someone pullec their finger out and got something happening.

p.s I am hoping that is what is going on behind the scenes. But any attempt to bring this out in May! and this almost end of April, would be a waste of all the people who would have contributed to the making of this movies time.

It's possible, but I think Relativity Media won't be releasing this film anymore. They've scrubbed all trace of Kidnap from their website. Masterminds were scheduled to come out later than Kidnap, and both those films are still featured on their website.

I suspect they've been allowed to sell the distribution rights to someone else or seek another buyer.

They still have the distribution rights, 1 of 3 they kept after coming through bankruptcy, but they are reportedly shopping it.

The film was previously scheduled for release on October 9, 2015, Relativity pushed back the date to February 26, 2016, then again to May 13, 2016, then December 2, 2016, and again March 10, 2017. There is no telling if it actually comes out in March.

I hope it comes out in March. I liked the trailer when I saw it in front of Masterminds.

It's a real pity. I'll admit, after reading that review in the other post, it doesn't make for everyone's cup of tea. But at least give people a chance to decide for themselves and don't hide it away on the straight-to-dvd shelf.
