There was news about people walking out because it was too grotesque and with a 18+ rating, body mutilation will be an all time high.

Saw it last night. It had some gore but it really wasn't that bad at all. Cronenberg has much gorier and disturbing movies than this.

Most of the gore is just close ups of guts and organs during surgery scenes. There are also scenes of people cutting themselves. The most violent part is where a character gets killed with a drill to his head and we see a bunch of blood pour out of his head afterwards. It's really not that bad

Only 65% of Google users liked the movie. Maybe it's too early for a consensus right now, but the Google users percentage is usually always higher than the IMDb, Metacritic, or Rotten Tomatoes score. Right now, it's less than those sources.

I like Cronenbeg and I thought this sucked. His 2nd worst movie next to Cosmopolis

Now down to 62% of Google users. That's a shame. Was hoping there'd be a lot of viewer love for Cronenberg's comeback film. I'm still going to watch it though. It's at 78% on Rotten Tomatoes. But like I said above, the Google user percentage is usually higher than the review sights.

Yeah it wasn't really gory. The two things that I think were worse than gore is watching a woman slowly contemplate, straddle, then smother her 8 year old son with a pillow. And then said 8 year old's private parts on display for an extended period of time at the end of the movie (regardless if it's CGI or a mannequin)
