Well metascore pretty much sucks sometimes. Gravity: 96 Interstellar: 74... The critics aren't always right. Gravity is good, but not close to 96/100 good.

Moviegoers are not always right either.

With all the flaws that Interstellar had, I felt it was waaaaaaaaay better than Gravity. For some reason I couldn't connect with the character in Gravity and I just thought she was dumb and did not root for her at all. Unfortunately, I actually kinda wished they got rid of Ryan and brought Matt back into the story.
