To be fair, they're all secondary characters. I haven't seen a black lead in a scifi movie since.. ever.

Re: No Black People in Space

False. Black people are in space, but they've fallen into a Black Hole.

White people ended up in a White Dwarf (a small star that died [burned up its hydrogen] and became a dense singularity). If only "Ryan Stone" did too....

Lt Uhura went boldly into the beyond in 1966, years before the US sent any real women or blacks into space.

If you believe that art reflects real life, so far 500 people have been to space and 15 of those were black people.

Are you referring to the world space program or America's NASA? If you mean 15 NASA black astronauts out of a total of 500 who went into space, that's a good percentage of the 13-15% of black Americans who make up the population. Are there any black astronauts in other countries with space program? How many in Africa?

The "race in space" OP is a persecution complex that doesn't fly now that there's a black President of the U.S., etc., etc., etc. .....

Avery Brooks was the big cheese in Deep Space Nine. Oh......what the Heck..... that wasn't really about space...... so you are right.

You know what aspect of being hooman was most correlated to being an astronaut? Being a jet pilot. Yes....early program and actually a program requirement.... but.... do you know what aspect of being a pilot applicant correlated the highest in becoming a pilot?

...................... whether or not you rode a motorcycle.

Motorcycles scared me, but I figured out that it was probably the right answer compared to "build a bookcase."

Hey..... being smart, suspicious, and willing to lie doesn't hurt either.... no matter what you want to be.

They tried having blacks in space but after the astronauts came back from a space walk they found the module up on blocks and parts were missing soooo.
