Wow--- much hate here... Why?

The story was sh*T!
Worst dialog i've ever heard in years.
Worst writing i've seen in years.

The actors really just made the movie a bore for me.
IT's not that beautiful, not very exciting.
The science in this film is a joke. Take the first 15-20 min of this film and it's dead. There is no afterlife, the headcharacter is dead. It is truly an awful film for me, and an awful movie expierence. Most critics out there are probably paid off because this movie for me was truly awful.

It's an awesome movie. I just saw it for the first time last night, never having read reviews or anything about it. All I knew was who was in it and it was a great visual movie. I was surprised at how much I liked it and how good it was. Truly an awesome movie! There is no doubt about it. And there is also a lot of depth and subtle meaning that many people who don't like it either missed or just don't "get". The story was fine too. I don't know where that meme was started or came from about this, but the story was just fine for what it is.

beautiful? yes, good actors? yes. but exciting, tense? noo. The story doesn't have enough contents for a 1.5 hour movie. There is little in the story, they have stretched it too much that makes the movie boring.That's it, everything else is fine.

Becasue it's a popular movie.

because there is no plot. it's just about some woman who is stuck in space. nothing else happens. that's why no one really likes this movie. the real question is who actually rated this movie up? stop misleading people into watching it

I just watched this yesterday for the first time; I was blown away. It was excellent.

I actually could not get it out of my head all day. It was stellar and I don't quite understand all the negativity here other than pure lack of taste for exceptional filmmaking.
