I'll recommend you to watch Imitation of Life (1959). I'd be proud if you watch it. It's a wonderful movie!

I'll keep that in mind. I'd recommend The Long Walk Home. I'm watching it now and it's wonderful.

shareI agree, Imitation of Life is a good movie. There are two of them, one made in the 30's with Claudette Colbert, and the one in the 50's with Lana Turner. I agree with another poster - The Long Walk Home was a very good movie. Whoopi Goldberg and Sissy Spacek are both great in it.
shareI saw the Long Walk Home and I was not crazy about it. It was harder to show Miriam's evolution on the issue. Or the fact that gaining consciousness about this issue also helped change her world too.
She still gets to remain in town and in her nice little life. It wasn't that big a jolt to her way of being.
It's a classic, I watched "imitation of life " many times, especially when I was a kid... It always made me cry.
I rally enjoyed "the help", much "ligher" of course, I recommend it to everyone.
