The pumpkin pies in the movie

My god those pies looked delicious. But it seemed unrealistic that the maids would make a whip cream topped pie and walk it all the way over to someone else's house in the blazing Mississippi heat with the whipped cream not melting at all. Whenever I eat a slice of pie, I top it with cream it starts melting away in minutes.

In commercials or TV/movies, they use either paste or Crisco when they need Ice Cream or whipped cream. I think that is so cool!

Wait! Wait! Where are you going? I was gonna make Espresso!

I believe they are actually supposed to be chocolate pies and not pumpkin. At the benefit, Jolene announced the winner of Minnie Jackson's chocolate pie was Hilly Hilbrooks.

How can anyone watch this movie and think the pies are PUMPKIN is beyond me.

For fvcks sake- how many times did they say "CHOCOLATE PIE?" Plus, how you mix *beep* in with pumpkin pie?

And that's the double truth, RUTH!

Lmao wow its great 2 hear someone else think the same exact thing. Im sure the pies were just rubber or some kind of props. The must have carried those pies with the topping of whipped cream all over the place in there hands the whole time. Lol.

Your post made me laugh because I wondered the same thing during the movie...I believe they were chocolate pies, and they did look delicious. After Minny made the "special" pie for Hilly, they didn't look so moth-watering to me any more. It was super hot and the whipped cream topping sat perfectly on top of the pie the whole time and in one scene Milly walked quite a distance with the pie, and it looked perfect. Same with Celia, she was walking around in the heat, in the bushes around the house, and the pie looks perfect. Not an important plot point of the movie, but a funny observation.
