I've like him ever since I saw the period piece (Atonement) with Kiera Knightley (my fav). However, no matter how good the makeup artist, I can't believe they could make him look so haggard. Is this guy on a serious drug/alcohol downward spiral? Often accompanies fame. Interested in what you think.

In interviews he's said that he got an excuse to drink a lot of whiskey (but ultimately didnt overdo it because he couldn't tolerate excessive amounts of it) and go to work moody and hungover. His face also bloated up as a side effect. Looking at him now you wouldn't have thought he ever looked like he did as DS Bruce Robertson. Still feel sorry for his liver tho...
