Is this a morality tale...

where the moral of the story is that excessive drug and alcohol abuse, habitual whacking off, intense porn habit, serial sexual assault, sleeping with your friends' wives, plotting against your fellow man, and corruption culminate in self loathing so severe that you hang yourself? I didn't think so.

No.

The morality tale is, you are allowed to do all those filth and be sympathized if it all started due to your wife and kid leaving you but didn't give you any reason, with prolong memory of your dad blaming you for your brother's death.

To the OP:

You're correct---it wasn't so much a morality tale as a "this is what happens when you make your whole life about your addictions to the point where they completely ruin your life and take you straight to hell" thing.

@flickfix

His wife and child obviously left him because he was nothing but a damn hot mess, and completely fcked up---that's pretty obvious to anyone who's seen the film. The film dosen't really go a lot into though, surprisingly enough.
