Women can also be beastly

It is a brave film to make in the Me Too era. The focus has been on powerful men like Harvey Weinstein who are abusive predators. Anyone who rejects their advances are then blacklisted or forced out of the film industry. This film shows that women can also have their traits especially when they reach the level of fame and power that Lydia Ta'r has. She promotes women that she fancies and uses her power to cancel those that displease her. Power corrupts even in the cultured world of classical music.

"Also"? What sane person ever said they couldn't?

These days it's not clear if you are " allowed" to say that. The film T'ar has been attacked as anti women by women.

Thereby reinforcing the theme of cancel culture and highlighting the irony. His film itself is bringing out the cancellers...

I think part of making much of the film vague is to drive home the point that these things are not often clear. Outrage wants an outlet, but often the person targeted isn't clearly guilty or innocent. The same goes for Tar, methinks...

Unfortunatelly, there are a lot of "insane" people in decision making positions.
