Has anybody ever tried one of the cakes? I live down south and they sale his cakes in our stores out here but I haven't tried it yet. Has anyone else?

shareI have. I grew up a town over from Hoboken. We ordered his cakes all the time (although not the flashy ones you see). His stuff is honestly generic in taste and overpriced. He's also made our prom cakes and spelled a word wrong...a simple word.
I know my aunt still orders his crumb cakes. Which are pretty decent... But I've had better :/
Agreed. He's a simple baker who happened to make it big time. His baked goods are pretty decent but nothing extraordinary. Never tried his cakes though, only cookies and cannolis

I basically agree with the other posters. His generic cakes aren't anything to write home about though his crumb cake was above average, but still not the best I've had. Liked his chocolate cannolis alot and they're not easy to do.
As also previously stated, Buddy is an average baker that got lucky just like the average custom motorcyle builders who became famous on American Chopper.
Well I'm glad I didn't waste 20 bucks lol, I kinda figured they weren't special like the people on the show make it out to be. I myself own a sweets catering business and our stuff is super original but we don't brag about "this is how you make a peach cobbler cupcake Atlanta style baby!" Lol
shareI haven't tried their cakes, but last Christmas I ordered one of their cookie trays. I was so disappointed with those cookies. They were dry and tasteless. Some were dipped in chocolate and even the chocolate didn't have any taste. After that I didn't want to even try their cakes. I bake cookies and cupcakes as a little side business so I decided to see what I could do compared to their cookies. Everyone who tasted mine said that they blew away the Carlos cookies.
shareHis shop came to my city (Pittsburgh) and gave out free cakes. They were okay. I mean, how awesome can cake get? It plateaus.
