What I don't get is the naivete of the employees as to why there is a camera crew filming the undercover boss. That would be totally obvious.

You only see the bosses under cover journey. What they usually do is have two or three "contestants" that are competing for a prize on a fake reality show. So one day the boss is in the building, then the next day it is a different person but you don't see that persons time in the building. The third day is another "contestant". Again you don't see that. Then when the employees are brought together they are suppose to vote on which of the contestants wins the prize. The show only focuses on the bosses journey. You rarely see the other people or the "host" of the fake reality show, but they have been shown on occasion.

Even so this show has been on long enough that these workers can figure it out and they know how to act.

Act like you don't know, tell a sob story, and get the deal at the end.

What a load of baloney.

of course they know
they play dumb because they know they will get stuff for playing along
for all we know they say wait arent you the CEO then they say just play along and cut that part out
i mean serious when you are training someone new for any job, on the first day when do you ever tell them you sob story life
plus everyone they choose always has issues

Has the show ever disclosed this to the viewing audience? So a reality show falsely pretending to be another fake reality show to get the contestants to think they are winning a cash prize, but after a sob story the edit is made to believe they are giving the dirt on their sob story of a life in order to get a priZe? Still seems shady on both sides from the CEO and the employees.

Next question is, are the employees really employees there or are they paid actors?
