The first season, I can understand. But after that, any and all employees would know, "Hey, we're on Undercover Boss!" the second they see the new guy show up with a camera crew. Especially, when he's wearing the most fake looking hairpiece and facial hair he could possibly wear. This show holds no validity after the premise becomes known.
You're totally right. They pick the most ridiculous disguises. This boss (Todd from vivent) really seemed to care though. Or was it just me being over emotional? :)
The Vivant guy seemed real to me too but I cant help but wonder why some get such large amounts and others who seem to also have a need get much smaller amounts? For instance the black guy installer got $100,000 and reconstructive surgery for his wife and $15,000 for a new car. The lady in the call center who's husband died and who only makes $10 an hour; received only $30,000. What about the kids she had at home? What about a raise for her? She said she made $7 less an hour than her 21 year old 911 dispatcher daughter. The bald red headed guy seemed to have hit pay dirt also since he got $25,000, got his legal bills paid and got a raise and a vacation for him and his son. I did think a 20% raise is no big deal since it would only amount to a few dollars extra per hour but still the call center lady got shortchanged in comparison to all these others. It doesnt seem really fair.
Right now im watching the retro fitness episode. That one girl is such a B. I still think the show is a bunch of BS though, and the sob stories have to stop.
