the format is the same in every episode, so that's rather boring

it's fun to watch the show, but the same format of hearing people's down on their luck stories are sad.

Plus, it's boring to see the same format being utilized in every episode.

Anyone else want to see a new format?

yep i agree, while i dont know the context of america and poverty and the amount of people with low socio-economics, i feel like every single employee is somehow disadvantaged and has grief in their life, there is rarely any really terrible employee that goes into a conflict or gets fired with the undercover boss. I think the concept of the show is misled. The bosses intent is to go into his/her company and make changes that can improve the business. However, the resolution of the changes probably have little to no effect on the overall business, instead handing out bonuses and rewards are just sentimental gifts to individuals.

never reply,

impoverished Americans are a small minority compared to most of the population. There's only 14.5% of poor Americans, in contrast, to millions more that are average and rich.

Here's the exact statistic from the US Census for 2013:

In 2013, the official poverty rate was 14.5 percent, down from 15.0 percent in 2012. This was the first decrease in the poverty rate since 2006.

I don't have the stats for 2015, unfortunately, but 2013 gives you an idea.

I also agree w/you that the CEOs help their companies more than their employees.

I just think companies should treat their employees better. I don't come from poor people myself. People in my family are businessowners themselves and they work hard and worked hard and as far as I know they didn't mistreat their employees.

You do realize that what you said is subjective, right? Don't get me wrong, greed does nothing for me. But at the same time, I've worked with people who would go on and on about how bad off they are because the company was screwing him out of over-time, they were screwing him over because they outsourced a minimum wage / minimum skill job which the company was losing money on, etc.

I finally got tired of it and after a little discussion, by his own admission, his two divorces had cost him $300K.

So, was the company really mistreating him, or was he responsible for his own financial problems?

Certainly that isn't always the case, but I'm REALLY tired of hearing about raising the minimum wage to some asinine amount and/or about some bullsh!t "living wage."

I applaud the CEO who realizes that living on $5 million per year instead of $10 million per year doesn't cramp his style at all. But at the same time, there are way too many able-bodied people who refuse to be responsible for their themselves and only look to blame the wealthy for their own mistakes.

justanicknamed,

the wealthy exploit the masses all of the time.

Donald Trump himself said that it's wrong he pays less taxes than most Americans.

It's not about whining about unfairiness.

It's about doing what's right.

Companies should pay people a living wage because it's ridiculous to expect someone to spend so much time working, yet pay them very little for that work.

I don't have to worry about low-paying jobs.

I have my Master's degree in Psychology and 2 credentials in mental health after my name.

However, most people work extremely hard and get paid very little. That's simply wrong.

CEOs are way overpaid. No one should be getting paid millions of dollars/year.

I agree, which is why there should be a flat tax of 15% so everyone pays the same rate.

It's about doing what's right.

Again, subjective.

Companies should pay people a living wage

They can't pay a "living wage" because there is no such thing. There is no possible way to quantify what is a "living wage" because everyone needs a different amount to "live." There are a multitude of variables to factor in to any equation, and, even if somehow you could possibly factor all of them in, you still have to deal with what a person spends their money on. Because, as I'm sure you know, there have been millionaires who have p!ssed their money away. And, you don't have to be a millionaire to p!ss your money away. That can be done on booze, soda, cigarettes, tattoos, junk food, fast food, etc.

Then you should be smart enough to realize that "living wage" is just liberal gobbledygook made up to incite hatred of wealthy business owners by the working class.

However, most people work extremely hard and get paid very little. That's simply wrong.

No, that's simply not true.

CEOs are way overpaid.

As are actors, musicians and athletes, yet you don't whine about them.

No one should be getting paid millions of dollars/year.

Bull fuqking sh!t. People should get paid what the market will pay them for their services. It is one of the things which has made this country great. People can start off dirt poor, work their azzes off, and become exceedingly wealthy. People can make as much as they want and do with it as they wish. The idea of limiting what a person in the private sector can earn is idiotic.

Again, greed does nothing for me. But as long as a person is making their money legally and paying what they are legally obligated to pay in taxes, it shouldn't matter what they earn.

so you think it's reasonable for someone to work 40 hrs/week getting paid 8 dollars/hr vs. someone working 10 hrs/week getting paid millions of dollars?

yea, that's logical.๎€ฆ

reply

So you think it's reasonable to compare someone making $8/hour doing a menial labor job which can be done by a teenager to someone who made tons of sacrifices to build a company from the ground up and now has a menial labor job to offer to someone for $8/hour?

yea, that's typical liberal "logic." ๎€ฆ

reply

I'm rich and I'm NOT a "liberal," so to be honest, doesn't bother me either way. ๎…

You are wealthy and complaining about other people being wealthy. So you are either a hypocrite or an idiot. ๐Ÿ‘

Close I'm a lesbian!

reply

As long as you are a lesbian and not a dyke it means you actually have something going for you.

It still doesn't explain why you are so stupid.

reply

are you flirting now?

reply

No. No matter how attractive a person is, I find that if they are stupid it is a turn off.

reply

Just joking, but I really am a lesbian!

reply

Great. I don't care. You can be whatever you want, just don't be a stupid hypocrite who is wealthy but whines about wealth inequity.

Being a hypocrite like that just divides the country more and more.

reply

you just like me because I'm a HOT lesbo!
