The loehmann's CEO is your typical DB CEO

The loehmann's CEO is your typical DB CEO, he wanted to go into his stores and hear how everything is great and not get real feedback. And that one supervisor who told him everything wrong with the store what does he do? He calls her negative and asks oh should I have you working for his stories.

Its funny that most of the other CEOs when they get negative feedback they try and fix the issues and make it better. She had legit points about the maniquens and the way the stores look and he had a fit.

Its probably because he designed it and was offended. People like that should not be CEOs if all they want to hear is positive things and pretend everything is great when its not.

What is the point of going undercover to get real feed back if you dont want to get it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice that. Not only that, the first woman said she didn't even belong there but he didn't seem to notice that comment. Some supervisors have a strict attitude, they are there to work not baby new employees. She shouldn't be faulted on that part of her personality. What matters is that she is fair and consistent with all her employees. It just boiled down to him not liking her comment on his store.

Douchebag. The real question is why did they have him say he was straight with a wife and kids? He was about as gay as it comes and there was no hiding it.

reply

Because the point is to create a different persona?

reply

It didn't work. The wig and mustache looked terrible, his feminine voice and mannerisms don't scream I'm straight with a wife and 2 kids ;0

Years ago I worked in a call center, and had 2 gay bosses. When I made a complaint and offered a solution (in regards to mine and other colleagues duties), my hours were reduced and they didn't speak to me unless they had to.

They cannot take criticism, and this UB DB was another prime example.

I totally agree. I didn't find her to be negative, she was giving her honest opinion of the failings of the store. That is in fact the point of going undercover. You get feedback from the employees that is honest in a way you may not get them to vocalize otherwise. I've seen these exact type of comments from other employees on different episodes, and the CEOs appreciated the critiques.

This guy is such a primadona! !!!! Of course hes NOT going too to take orders from anyone HES THE CEO---(probably hasnt had anyone tell him what to to as in the WORKING WORLD in over 20 years) He couldn't think fast enough like a CEO should have and like an average retail worker so he threw his 2 snaps up (girl you making me look bad cause I am not use to working in the real working job) - I thought he was very unprofessional when making odd faces at the camera very juvenile -- if I had a business - I sure wouldn't want him to run it --- on the other hand I was moved by the lingerie lady & the end result but I don't consider him at all CEO material AT ALL!!!!

The other thing too is he was supposed to be an employee not a CEO. And any supervisor or manager that gets talk back from an employee is going to cut him off. When he was at her store he was talking to her like she was beneath him not like he was trying to learn from her.

And she was right, he was trying to train him and he kept cutting her off. So she got strict with him in the store and he didnt take a liking to yet where as every other CEO would laugh it off and say how bad they were doing.

That women gave the best feedback and didnt just kiss his ass and only got 10k, such a dick. it would be one thing if everyone got that low but he gave that one lady 100k, i mean WTF. He could have at least given her 20 or 30k

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this. And what got me is when she talked about not having supplies they needed, like enough mannequins, he (apparently) did nothing about it. But when the last one mentioned using her own phone, he said he was getting her a new phone and a tablet?!

^

That is because that lady was saying how great the store was and kissed his ass.

The funny thing is, the one lady who said oh i shouldnt even be here but I cant find anything better went right over his head.

I can see why should we get snippy with him when was undercover. HE was talking back to his supervisor and kept cutting her off.

And at the reveal it was talking about how she was cutting him off yet he was cutting her off and wouldnt let her give his side of things.

I won't shop at loehmans knowing they have such an idiot as a CEO! !!!

Thank you everyone in this thread... I posted this on a different thread, but it's more applicable here... I was so annoyed after watching this episode. this is what I had posted... (most of which someone has already said in this thread... sorry for the repeats)

This episode really pissed me off. The CEO was completely unwilling to hear any criticism. In every other episode, when an employee says something negative, they listen, and try to learn from it. This guy refused to listen, got defensive, and just talked over her. All he cared about were his "yes" men/women. Hated him. Dunno where a Loehmann's is, but wouldn't shop there if I did know.

The worst part was how he was supposed to be a new hire and was talking over his manager and not letting her get of what she wanted to say.

of course if you are a manger and a newbie is trying to tell you something you are going to start to get short with them.

He forgot that he was supposed to be a new hire and not the CEO.

So glad you posted this. That CEO's prejudice against that one black female employee was appalling, and obvious. He didn't like her and the fact that she dared be plain and honest with him. He could have taken it as an opportunity to learn and make improvements, to be humble and appreciate the ability to do better. A lot of times this show has the "bad black person" and the "good black person." The former is plain-spoken and treats the CEO like everyone else. The latter is all big-grins, chatty, calls the CEO "sir," etc. This Loehmann's episode was the worst. I felt sort of assaulted watching it.

reply

I agree. I think he didn't want to be supervised by a black woman, especially one that criticized his work. He was posing as a new employee but was looking to run things like a top-down "my way or the highway" CEO and not listen to constructive criticism. He even noted she was a single mom before she even revealed this to him. What if he were wrong? His prejudice and wounded pride got in the way of him getting the most out of the experience.

reply

I just watched this episode and I was appalled as well. Oh well, at least he is no longer CEO as this retail store went belly up for the 3rd time and its store in SF (closest to my proximity) shut down.
