Mike was a foreman at an excavation site and Frankie was a dental assistant and car salesman so they had good paying jobs yet they were shown as being almost poor. I know both went a period being jobless but how could they be that strapped for cash constantly?
small town living and small town salaries. what i don't get is Sue's fashion choice in today's time. I mean where does she get all those funky clothes? it's like wardrobe from Napoleon Dynamite.
It is very expensive to buy food for five people, whether or not you go out or cook at home. Also, sometimes it is cheaper to go out --- depending on where you go.
it does take a lot out of their budget but I think that is part of the reality of people like them that work all day and don't really want to come home and cook dinner so it's easier to pick up something.
well I don't think Frankie sold alot of cars and by the time she finished dental school, they were probably alot in debt from struggling. this is why I loved this show and Roseanne. Both middle to poor class and working people like most of the people in reality. not like these other shows that have big clean houses, nice cars, etc. etc.
I’ve liked it for the same reason. The same was true for Everybody Loves Raymond. I liked that the show had a stay at home mom. Not many shows have them anymore. The kids ran through the house screaming and the house was covered with toys. I loved the little touches top of kids art work framed and on the way.
