Cary smiling
I've been rewatching the series on Amazon Prime, and god, does Cary have any other facial expression besides that goofy ass smile? No wonder he was never nominated for anything.

I often wondered if the reason was that the Kings had seen him in I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell, complete with his nude scenes and gross-out behaviour, and they thought he just wasn't up to it.
He certainly wasn't in the same class as others in the cast, like the wonderful Alan Cumming or the luminous Christine Baranski, both of whom have been bright lights on Broadway.
I always got a chuckle out of the sight of this callow youth, affecting a deep gravelly voice, trying to pretend to be a serious lawyer, when he looked like he was 14 and still didn't shave yet.
You're wrong about that. Czuchry is incredibly underused in this show as with Panjabi but season 6 more than proved he's as capable an actor as anyone on the show. Most of season 6 he was the emotional center at the heart of most episodes and he brought his A game.
shareYeah, he brought his A game and almost every media recognized this. The only partially intriguing storyline in season 6 was Cary's one and mostly because Matt handled the all the thing in the best way possibile doing all his best to make it work. He was in the same category of other actors in that show. He just didn't have the same pedigree to get the same "preferential" treatment when it came to material, screentime and storylines. He was wasted for most of the time in that show.
shareI think its because he often gets the label of "blonde pretty boy" but my god he's really grown as an actor. One of my favourite scenes from the Trial is when he meets Alicia and he's calm, calm for a man who knows he's about to go to jail and lose 4 years of his life. That "will you visit me? i dont want to be lonely." broke my heart.
