The Good Wife definitely did NOT get better with age!!

I enjoyed the first few seasons of this show even with its liberal overtones but it's as if they just gave up on the last couple seasons, especially the final season. Alicia and Carey going back and forth and then back again with Lockhart was an easy and uncreative way to spike ratings and end seasons. The cases in season 7 were underwhelming and throwing in the hunky mysterious older man as Alicias love interest is really how your going to end her story!?! The characters that made the show great like Will, Kalinda, and Bishop were more valuable to the success of the show then I thought. To top it all off hearing that Julianna Margulies was a diva about working with certain members of the cast, really, suck up whatever trivial issues you have and go enjoy the millions of dollars you made on the show.

I think that the departures of Will, Kalinda and Bishop really deflated the show. Their replacements -Lucca and Jason - were not compelling at all.

I think it speaks volumes that you forgot to mention the other replacement of Will - what was his name? (= rhetorical question )

You´re right. I didn´t care much for Will or Kalinda, but the early seasons had excitement, the cases were interesting. But Alicia grew bitchier and bitchier, her mariage/non-mariage is weird (she doesn´t want to live with Peter, yet she goes to bed with him whenever she feels the need, she forbids him a relationship), and the constant changes of the firm are tiresome.

I hear your point of view, but I thought the whole show was remarkably smart and consistent.
Things changed, but it was continuous and not too unbelievable, and also just smart writing
and great characters.

I just watched the last episode today and I have to admit I am baffled by the ending, but I really
enjoyed this show ... and often because of its Liberal overtones. Reality has a well-known Liberal
bias, so shows are better with some uplifting values and morals as opposed to crime and hatefulness
that is so often the center of anything Right-wing in order to scare people.

I never thought this show would be anything I would be interested in, but I was hooked pretty
quickly because the intelligence and wide appeal of this show.

Older man?? Did I miss something or are you referring to Jason who is Alicia's age and much younger than Alicia's husband?
