Please tell me you're a nun. Did you grow up in the 40's, 50's or early 60's because your comments make a lot more sense? Late 60's to our current era, does not make much sense at all.
No surprise that you don't have a clue that that's not what prostitute's do, especially while at a table. Your thinking or believing that's what a prostitute does, a hand job under a table is hilarious (I have cousins who are in law enforcement and there much more than just that involved). It's usually someplace else like a bathroom, back alley, sleazy motel. Honey, what Alicia was doing is called foreplay. Sexually teasing your partner and/or lover for the things to come, let's call it dessert or a nightcap. I would say more but I'll stop myself there.
The television censors allowed the scene to air so it cannot be that shocking to most of the audience watching. Every show goes to the censor board, after the network executives reviews the scripts of every show prior to filming, after filming it gets reviewed again and then to goes to the censor board for review, some things get cut and others stay (seen a DVD of a show and you'd know that). So, a lot of eyes see these shows before their aired live on television. The Good Wife is a PG-14 recommendation by the censor board. We've come a long way from Lucy and Desi sleeping in separate beds and making a Little Ricky.
