Robyn??

So what happened to Robyn? I remember Diane negotiating when she was joining Florrick-Agos that she had to bring Kalinda. Next thing you know, Robyn is no longer in any episodes. Isn't it weird that Alicia wouldn't of rehired her when she was on her own? Or that Lockhart, Agos, Lee wouldn't have hired her back.

Oh yeah. What happen to her? I didn't notice it till you said something. So maybe that's what they were going for. Hahaha

So true. Robyn was one of my favourite charachters on the show.

lovinulikea2dollarwhore,

So what happened to Robyn? I remember Diane negotiating when she was joining Florrick-Agos that she had to bring Kalinda.
Robyn was last seen in episode 6.02 (Trust Issues (2014)) and later shortly mentioned by Diane in a conversation with Kalinda in episode 6.09 (Sticky Content (2014)). Which means, she was indeed still working for Lockhart/Florrick/Agos, in the "background." After that, she completely disappeared without any explanation, and a lot of people asked about her whereabouts, especially regarding the search of a new investigator in episode 7.02.

The reason from behind the scenes: Jess Weixler, who played Robyn, decided to move back from New York to Los Angeles. Basically, because the status as a (recurring) guest star on the show couldn't pay her bills in NY (the direction of the show in season 6 promised not much work for Robyn as an investigator), and she thought the job opportunities in LA were better. Or, according to Robert King (source: http://tvline.com/2015/08/24/felicity-arrow-code-name-alias-spoilers/):
Question: Can you please find out if The Good Wife will be bringing Robyn back this season? With Kalinda gone, Lockhart Agos Lee needs a new investigator. — Maddie

Ausiello: Series co-creator Robert King would love to make that happen, but he needs your help. “Can everybody write Jess Weixler and get her to move to New York again?” chuckles the EP of Robyn’s L.A.-based portrayer, before further explaining that budget restrictions preclude the show from “flying her out for every episode” — at least for the time being. “Jess is amazing,” King adds, “and things may change; they always do.” In the meantime, Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s freelance investigator character will fill the Kalinda void at both Lockhart Agos Lee and Alicia’s fledgling new practice, a juggling act King says “is going to cause some strain” between the rival firms.
So, basically, it was about money and the direction of the show. I mean, in the minds of the creators they needed a male love interest for Alicia in the show, so they made Matthew Goode's Finn Polmar in season 6 and later JDM's character Jason Crouse in season 7 a series regular instead of Robyn. That's how this show worked ...

There was a radio interview with Jess Weixler a long time ago in which she explained all this from her point of view:

I would love to give you the exact time stamp when she talks about TGW - but I just don't have time for it right now. However, it's there somewhere in the middle or last third of this interview (if I remember correctly). 

Best wishes,

janar
