but none of them had a weatherbeaten face at all. I didn't see any of them wear sunsceen or windscreen, nothing, yet everyone's face looked the same at the beginning of the walk as it did at the beginning.

Maybe it is just in ads you need all those artificial stuff ;-) I sleep in tent abut 50 nights per year and never use any protection.... ;-)

Tom, having not trained at all, seemed to have handled the physical part of The Way without much difficulty.
