The story, characters, environment, history, music and casting is amazing. This was recently added to Amazon prime and I can't stop watching it. This is exactly what I love to see when I sit down to watch a movie. I'm sad I didn't know about this sooner.
I agree that this is a very good film. Emilio really hit it out of the Ballpark with this movie in every way...Script, Directing, Acting was all excellent, but the message was what really hit home. To me, it was a truly inspirational film that showed how stangers can interact when they are out of their element. Bravo to you Emilio, this movie is a masterpiece!! ~GWS
I thought the dialogue was extremely well-written. Realistic and not overdone at all - exactly how you would expect people to speak to one another... Even the Irish guy's monologue (though a bit - no, alot - wordy) was what you might expect from someone who likes the sound of their own voice and is very well-read. But the rest of the dialogue between the characters was really beautifully written. When the police captain says quietly 'I too have lost a child' - with no further details. Or the woman sharing about her lost baby. Or the remarks between Tom and his son. Just very realistically written. Even Joost's silences speak alot - when he watches Tom and slowly understands more about him - his eyes speak volumes. Well done from the dialogue/script aspect - more than many other movies (even ones that are more entertaining in other ways) that I've seen.
