When the alien 'carrier' starts to approach:

"I didn't think that one moved."

It came to Earth from outer space! Do you think it took the TRAIN?!

"You may have come on no bicycle, but that does not say that you know everything."

As indended. The movie is a satire, which 95%+ of people don't seem to understand.

It's making fun of other blockbusters that actually take themselves seriously.

Eh, I don't know if I'd call it a satire, if anything it seemed they were trying to copycat other blockbusters and assumed it was all going to work out in the end(Box office/positive word of the mouth).

It was blatantly obvious that the movie was made as a joke, making fun of the "serious blockbusters". That's the reason why it worked so epicly well.

Check the movie again with that in mind and you'll might notice how over the top and ridiculous pretty much everything in the movie is. :)

Well, I've always suspected the crazy amount of lens flares was an inside joke on its over-use in the industry. So there's that.
