Really? I was hoping Mark would get staked.

He was the worst character. I was hoping they'd change the original and make Ed live. Damn it. I hated this Amy too.

There were a lot of characters I hoped would get staked in this. And I agree with you, I didn't like Amy either. Heck, I didn't even care much for this version of Charley Brewster. There was not one character in this I liked, except for maybe pre-vampire Ed and the stripper neighbor. They were probably the only two I didn't want to jack in the face.

Logan, buddy. It's me, Deadpool! I shot youuuuuu....

What didn't you like about the characters? I personally enjoyed all of them

I liked the characters. I don't know why you hated Amy, but I thought she was cool.

If I had to pick a character not to like, for me it would be Ed. Actually, I couldn't tell much difference between the character Ed and the actor who plays him. I'm sure Mr. Mintz-Plasse is a nice enough guy, but like Ed, he seems to need to be the center of attention. It seemed that way to me when I watched him and Anton Yelchin in a few Fright Night interviews on Youtube. Anton would just step back when Christopher would jump in and answer all the questions, at times ad nauseam. Often, by the time he finished, there was no time left for Anton to reply. It was almost like Christopher was trying too hard to be funny, likable, etc. I didn't think he came across as humble or self-effacing at all.

In the movie Ed resorted to blackmail to get Charley to do his bidding. Granted that Charley had dumped Ed as a friend, a crappy act for sure, but having seen Ed as Kid Comeback I can understand why Charley may have felt a need to move on--though he could have done it in a classier way than telling Ed his life improved after he stopped being friends with him.

Ed's parents were really nice. I felt bad for them losing their son.

Actors do not have a job...they have a blast!

I agree that it was kind of unfair that the nerdy guy was permanently killed, while the jerk guy got to live on as normal after his brief vampire period. Had I been the writer, I would have changed that.

I agree with you, and upon watching last night I exclaimed "What!!!! Mark lived???! WTH"? And Marks words of "that was a strange night" indicates to me that he learned nothing and will continue being a bully. It would have been more redeemable if they showed he might change from the experience with different dialogue.

Even though Ed was killed (twice) it did leave for quite the emotional moment when he gets the killing blow and just tells Charley "Its okay Charley, Its okay". And for a brief moment you see Ed take human form and has this look of fear, yet relief, and peace that he is no longer a vampire right before he is fully dusted. Its that nuance that elevated that scene. It was done very quickly where you might not catch it the first viewing. Whereas in the original Ed has a long death scene and even outstretches his arm to Peter Vincent causing such a emotional scene yet taking longer to get there.

Me too. I hated that wretched bully.

When Mark chases Ed up that wooden fence, Ed gets away but leaves his vampire fighting kit bag behind. Mark opens it up and says "what the heck is all this stuff"...right here they should have had Mark look up from the bag to see Jerry standing above him and he backs up
Mark: "like what the hell man, you scared me".
Jerry: Smiles and says "what you got there"?
Mark: "oh nothing man"
Jerry: Sees the open bag with crosses and stakes
Mark attempts to walk past Jerry
Jerry: Reaches out grabbing Mark *snapping his neck almost instantly*

Then it cuts back to Ed making his way into the abandoned house continuing the movie.

If the scene was done this way, it wouldve added much more weight to Jerrys words when he tells Ed "Youre an outcast, I understand that perfectly. Join me". Since it showed him killing Mark (the bully) instead of biting to turn him.

But alas its not what we got.

TBH I disagree and I wish they used both of Charley's friends (Mark AND Ben) in more screen time (Legit they only used Dave Franco for a couple of minutes)
