What's the target audience here?

The standard plot seems to follow the 12 year old audience line of many of the mindless super-hero movies the e.g. the later Avengers movies but then the movie is R rated featuring almost porn grade sex & nudity & I think above average violence. So yeah I guess all the kids are downloading this on the net but who's paying for it?

Spot on. It covers anywhere from the 16 to 60 category.

I saw this film with my 55 year old father and he loved it.

Pretty much, I watched it the other day while my mum was over. She doesn't like these kinds of movies, but ended up liking Deadpools character.

The rating is for adults over 18. The humor is for boys between 8 and 12 years old.

I'm a boomer . . . not usually drawn to superhero films, but this one had me laughing almost from the beginning. Too funny.
