Old Grumpy Cable is NOT COOL!
They seem to be going for the old grumpy Cable from the comics. If they go that way, his only use in the filme will be someone for Deadpool to make fun of, it will diminsh the character.
But there's the handsome cool Cable, from when he was dating Domino in X-Factor. That's the cool bad-ass Cable (he will still be a serious guy, but not like his old grumpy version).
I think Tim Miller wanted the latter with Chandler (sounds perfect to me), but Reynolds just want someone to throw jokes at, which would be a disservice to the character.
