Great characters, terrible plot

There, I said it. If this film wasn't Deadpool, with the highly uniqueness of his stories and plots, but with this exact plot, it would be a terrible film. Deadpool's strangeness, humour, and overall abilities and persona masked the hell out of the fact that it was a sh*tty plot.

The plot was pretty formula for sure - especially for people who have read the comics.

But I for one found this film to be pretty much exactly how I imagined Deadpool sounding and acting when I read his comics.

But yeah, this certainly wasn't "plot-driven" in any way or form. And since the film is in a small part a spoof on the genre that was probably by design.

Reading my signature constitutes admission that I am correct. (Too late)

It was intentional and very "deadpool" so to speak. There were no stakes. If he failed, nothing hapened. It was purely for selfish reasons unlike other "save-the-world" super hero movies that the group falls into that situation almost out of guilt. Deadpool just wanted to be pretty again.

I thought it worked perfectly since that is what it was meant to do and was done intentionally.

Does the narrative need to be highly imaginative?

I missed that rule when making a film.

Ever read a Deadpool comic book?

Come to England and read mine!

How do you expect an origin movie to play out then?

Follow up from Wolverine Origins when his head says shush?

This is the PERFECT origin movie for Deadpool, if you do not grasp that, then you are not allowed to watch ANY SUPERHEROE MOVIES EVER!!!

Because you Sir, are dumb as *beep*.

Come on.. are you seriously saying you went to see a Deadpool movie and the thing you were most anticipating, was the plot? LOL

reply

well said jason.

I take it you have never read a Deadpool comic before? because noone was expecting a mindblowing plot....... its just a funny comedy superhero movie and got what it needed to spot on.

reply

Almost every Deadpool solo comic has a weak narrative but overcomes that with hilarious 4th wall breaks . Hell even the video game that came out makes it clear they dont have a script and are just *beep* around.
