Now we know why Deadpool knows about the X-Men - Logan related

"Logan" (2017) establishes the X-Men as superheroes popular enough in the world to inspire a fictional comic book.

The X-Men timeline was altered 2 times, not just one (DOFP).
FIRST CLASS was already a "divergence".

Apparently, there's no mention of Deadpool in "Logan".

In 2016, Deadpool was well informed of the X-Men's existence because they tried to recruit him many times, as mentioned by Colossus.

Even more importantly, we know that in the 2010s the X-Men are popular superheroes among people, because in "Logan" we see that a publishing company created comic books based on them.
