Just a story of a man haunted by his past, summoned to a strange land to serve a new purpose - no overload of plot, characters or fight scenes, or the feeling the movie was just a place holder to bigger and bigger moneymakers. You can just savor each scene, take a breath, enjoy the action...what a joy.
shareThe storyline and the characterizations appeal to all demos, including mature audiences. Hugh Jackman was able to portray the conflict in Logan's persona very well. This is one aspect that most superhero movies lack - a character arc which gives us the dramatic reason for making him an interesting human being, not simply someone with special gifts.

Well, Ultron was a full-on comic book movie. The Wolverine was more like a martial arts action movie with some comic book characters in it. I guess that's why I like it most, it feels more like Black Rain than The Avengers. Still love the MCU movies, though.
I've read that that's why so many people loved Winter Soldier - it felt like a spy thriller with Captain America in it, rather than a comic book movie.
