Silver Samurai(?)

Am I the only one that was upset about the depiction of the Silver Samurai in this movie at the end? Namely the fact he was kind of a mech suit of armor instead of...you know just armor and a bad ass samurai? It bothered me a lot, I mean the movie is good and all but that just irked me.

I seriously just posted basically the same thing in a reply to another post:

I'm not a Wolverine comic book fanboy, crying that, "The Silver Samurai is nothing like he is in the comics!" No, my problem with that Pacific Rim/Iron Man suit does not fit in with the style of the rest of the movie for me. I wish they would have toned down his outfit a bit, and just made him a badass samurai with a normal sized suit of adamantium armor with all the benefits of that monstrosity he climbed into. It would have actually seemed more epic and real to me considering the tone of the rest of the movie.

He should have worn the armor they put by his "grave" IMO.

A bit, but his fight with Shingen was worth it. Very cool.

That's true enough. The fight did look pretty sweet regardless.

I will agree with you, the depiction of the Silver Samurai was disappointing, but to be honest, I though the rest of the film was strong enough, and both different and interesting enough to still make me love the film, while knocking it down a little due to above problems.

Now, I have to agree with you. Silver Samurai aside this was a very good flick. Sure I was highly annoyed by how he was depicted but the movie on a whole was very well played.

My reaction is the same. A samurai in adamantium armor would have been better, but by that stage the movie had earned such huge goodwill I wasn't going to argue.
