I really liked this film when it came out in theaters, but I LOVED it when I saw the director's cut.
My appreciation of the film has only increased given how much more of a somber reflective narrative it is that intertwines a infighting family dynasty with Logan's own character arc about immortality and finding a reason to live.
I love the big budget superhero films, too. The Wolverine (director's cut) finds that perfect balancing act of script, action, tension, acting, and plot structure. I love the cast, and this film has my favorite adaptation of Wolverine to date.
In our struggle to survive the present we push the future further away.
