Why such low Ratings?

I loved this movie. And I'm a movie BUFF. They slapped the face on a children's tale! R rated through and through. I like that. Not afriad to 'go there'- slicing a kid with an axe, calling women bitches, and the f bomb. It was funny, and not predicatable. The language too modern sometimes.

The raings are low because the movie sucked, plain and simple.

I was not expecting anything. I heard it sucked. It looked terrible. I got to watch it for free and it was terrible. The End.

First off, you DIDN'T see it. Second, the Sixers and Eagles suck way worse than this film.

I just replied to a thread. I do not regret watching it. It was mindless entertainment. It was stupid and I'll never see it again but I enjoyed it in parts.

I agree with you, this was just a horribly written movie that , makes you ask "what is wrong with hollywood?".

Should have taken some bong hits. I had fun watching it.

Beating the hell out of those awful women was refreshing and uplifting. I want a sequel.

reply

It is rated low because people are snobs.

reply

Yes people are snobs and they can't appreciate a humorous and 'kicking witches asses' movies if it hit them in the face!
I love Hansel and Gretel because it has humor, action and good looking people! Nevermind that their language are ahead of their time and the insulin was not invented yet! It's still an amazing movie!

(:

Well, objectively speaking it really wasn't very good, but I did enjoy it. I'll watch the sequel.

It wasn't oscar-winning material, but films like this never are. These film critics and people who haven't seen many films want to see films with CGI and more invisible people who can never be defeated or knocked out. They want superheros or super complicated stories.
I've seen well over 500 films more than once and this is very decent & underrated.
Plus some people have different tastes & don't like thinking they've watched a fairy tale or too much gore or action. So its understandable most people don't like it.
On the other hand, I love it. *beep* them. Haha

Agree; it is not Oscar winning material.

But one can't deny that it is genre violence at its best. Women get punched in the face, in the body, dragged on the ground, smashed against trees, shot, burned to death by well intentioned hunters. In the film, adult men are stupid and bigoted, and evil women can take advantage of them, but then the witch hunters appear and those women receive the best treatment bigoted sexism can provide.

I want a sequel, I want to know how far Hollywood is willing to go to reverse the feminist revolution. Women are like men, and therefore it is only natural that they they can take a punch any day of the week and twice on Sundays if that is their kinky inclination. We can't expect anything less from 21st century entertainment.

I was told there will be a sequel. Fantastic! I hope the writers start reading The Witch's Hammer for inspiration, otherwise it will be just repetitive.

The only good thing about this movie was the fact that the guy is HOTTT.....other than that...i'm kinda disappointed on how uninteresting the movie actually was...but I think part of that was my fault because I never saw the trailer so I think i was just expecting something different and I originally had high hopes for it because the poster looked cool and the actor is great.

I figured when watching it, it would be in the middle. It seems you are either going to enjoy the movie and go along for the crazy ride or roll your eyes at it. I found myself enjoying it, despite it's silliness at times.

Chalk me up as someone else who found it quite watchable. With the 15% at rottentomatoes I figured it would be a mess, it was a simple tale, it was refreshingly grimm violent, never boring, but the editing certainly could have used some improvement. When the film finally won me over was that they did Edward as a practical effect, which is old-fashioned in the best kind of way.
