So they live in a world where Train to Busan is a movie and zombies are a part of lore

Yet they still respond to the situation like they don't know the first thing about zombies. These people are all idiots!

reply

But they don't, do they?

reply

Let me guess, you've seen a lot of zombie movies, you would know exactly what to do and how to react when you would see some of them, specially at 15 years old ...

reply

Actually, I thought you were referring to Train To Busan itself in this post, I didn't realise it was a different movie. My apologies.

reply

So if you saw someone bite someone else on the neck, you'd immediately know and believe that person is a vampire and stab 'em in the heart?

reply

Hell no, because in your scenario, that is one tiny piece of evidence! Now if I saw a group of them roll in doing superhuman shit, displaying fangs, drinking blood and showing an aversion to sunlight, then I'd quickly make the jump to vampires.

These things looked and moved identically to Train to Busan zombies, were killing fuck tons of people, and had a pretty good sized horde going, yet you had brain dead moves like principle refusing to call for help.

Hell, you had moron guy get bit after sticking a finger in a zombies mouth because he didn't want a clearly dead guy to swallow his tongue.

I haven't seen this, but heh, that does sound moronic.

reply

It was in the beginning and the paramedics didn't know he was a zombie, they thought he was having a seizure.

reply

Still, you don't stick your fingers in a guy having a seizure!

reply

That's true. The seizure isn't even a prerequisite, I never stick anything into a guy.

reply

Lol. True. Kingdom was a much better show. I wish it gets a 3rd season.

I can’t disagree with the OP’s opinion. If they’re aware of how zombies operate, it’s kinda nuts that they wouldn’t know how to kill them.

I’m in the 3rd episode, and I’m finding it annoying that it feels like the characters feel so helpless against them. I mean, they know “zombie lore”, so kill the brain? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I like the premise, but if this universe is aware of “Train to Busan” (or The Walking Dead); then they should already have a one-up on how to survive. They are already aware that they’re “zombies”. At least for now, it seems baffling that there isn’t some sort of meta thing going on.

But it's also inconsistent. Didn't a woman zombie get a spear through the head, but kept on moving forward? (might have been upper torso).

I could have sworn they showed numerous zombies have either head damage, or get hit in the head, and not act fazed. But the archers hit them in the head for effect. It feels wildly inconsistent.

reply

I don't know, people don't do their best in crisis.

And it's one thing to see zombies in a movie and another to assume that what you see in reality will act exactly like in the movies.

"I’m finding it annoying that it feels like the characters feel so helpless against them. I mean, they know “zombie lore”, so kill the brain?"

How would you go about that, exactly? The brain is a very well protected organ. The guys getting headshots with the bows is ridiculously unrealistic, as are headshots with pistols in other shows/movies. Trying to poke it through the eye with a broken broomstick when it's coming at you like that? Probably a bit easier, but still not at all easy.

reply

The thing is, the cast calls them zombies, but they are infected people, and the virus keeps on mutating as well. They are closer to the infected from 28 Days Later only no people who seem to be immune.

reply

I completely get your point, but nobody wants a zombie movie where the people are completely competent and the zombie threat is neutralized before it gets out of hand. Zombie movies REQUIRE a certain level of stupidity from the people.
